National Dialup Setup Instructions for Windows ME
(Adapted from Greater Columbus Free-Net Documentation)
Before you start
1. Make sure your modem is connected to the phone line
2. Make sure your system recognizes the modem - Double-Click on
Control Panels then Modem
3. Locate a number close to you, using our online searchable
dialup number list at http://wdyllc.com/support/DUNS.cgi
Dial-In Setup
1. Double-click on My Computer
2. Double-click on Dial-Up Networking (it will be on the far left
hand side of the window)
3. Double-click on Make New Connection
4. Where it says Type a name for the computer you are dialing, type
WDYLLC
5. Click on Next
6. Enter the telephone number
7. Click on Next
8. Click on Finish
To Logon to GCFN
1. Double-click on My Computer
2. Double-click on Dial-Up Networking (it will be on the far left
hand side of the window)
3. Double-click on WDYLLC
4. Fill in your Username and Password
5. Click the save password checkbox if you want to save the password
for future sessions
6. Click on Connect
7. You should see messages for dialing, verifying password, then
connected.
8. Once you are connected you can start browsing the internet by
double-clicking on your Internet browser (Netscape, Internet
Explorer, etc.).
